In 2010, the Hot Springs School District received AdvancED accreditation from North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI). Lake Hamilton School District was included in the 2011 High School Challenge index, published by the Washington Post, as one of the top high schools adequately preparing students for college. The index measures the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or other college level courses offered as a percentage of graduating seniors.
Lake Hamilton School District received the status of an accredited school district from AdvancED. The school district also garnered recognition as the top Academic Public School out of 244 districts within the state for 2010 from the Arkansas Policy Foundation.

In 2011, the Lakeside School District was recognized as one of 13 schools in 30 states and the District of Columbia named an "Outstanding High School" as part of the Southern Regional Education Board's High Schools That Work initiative. Lakeside is the first high school in Arkansas to receive this award, which is given to high-achieving schools among the 1,200 participating in the program. The award is based on how well a school is preparing students for college readiness and improving in state assessments.
Within the county, Lakeside is consistently the top performing school district with the highest grade point average in both the benchmark exams and the end of course exams. Lakeside is also the top performing district with the highest GPA of all 5A schools in the state. It is the only school district in the state which requires students to take the smart core curriculum to graduate unless a student has a disability. Lakeside boasts the most rigorous graduation requirements in the state of Arkansas. Lakeside Schools are fully accredited by the Arkansas Department of Education.

- Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts

Hot Springs is the proud home of the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts (ASMSA). As one of thirteen public, residential high schools in the nation, ASMSA serves academically gifted junior and high school seniors with an interest in mathematics and sciences. Sophmore students from throughout the state can apply for enrollment in the school. In 2011 alone, ASMSA graduates were awarded more than $15 million in college scholarships. ASMSA also provides distance learning and continuing education programs for teachers in mathematics and sciences.
ASMSA is a member of the National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology (NCSSSMST).

NPCC offers academic programs designed for students who are pursing
earning a two-year Associate Degrees or one-year Technical
Certificates. Programs include Associate Degrees in business, health
sciences, nursing, communication and arts, social sciences, applied
science, and general studies. Technical certificate programs are also
offered in a variety of professional studies.
4 Year Institutions:
Hot Springs is located approximately 55 miles from the University of
Arkansas at Little Rock and approximately 36 miles from Henderson
State University and Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia.
